PayPal is a global payment system that supports online money transfers and functions as a highly secure payment gateway for many businesses worldwide. As of 2019, it has 286 million active registered accounts that allow customers to send, receive, and hold funds in 25 currencies worldwide. Event attendees worldwide use it for their ticket booking, making it one of our preferred transaction portals. This is why a majority of event managers too, prefer selling tickets via PayPal.

When it comes to making payments, Yapsody offers multiple choices to your event attendees like Credit, Debit, and the “Pay Later” option. As an event planner, you have the flexibility to enable these payment methods from our Virtual Box Office.  This blog will focus on selling event tickets online by integrating PayPal for accepting payments.

Set up a Premier or Business PayPal account

Set up a Premier or Business account, if you haven’t already. Yapsody doesn’t have its own Payment Gateway but you can link your Business PayPal account to process payments.

Verify Your Account

Make sure that your account is created and verified before you start selling tickets. You’ll receive a confirmation email from PayPal.

Yapsody Integration

After setting up your Premier or Business account, follow these steps to request your API Username, API Password, and API Signature.

Go to their website and log into your account

PayPal website

Click on the “Tools” option at the top of the page

Tools

Select ‘All Tools’ option from the drop-down menu shown under ‘Tools’

Scroll down the page and click on “API Credentials” option

You’ll see multiple options like Pre-built Payment Solution, PayPal Checkout SDK Integration, and NVP/SOAP API Integration. Select the option View/Request API Signature under the option NVP/SOAP API Integration.

Your API credentials will be displayed to you. Click on ‘Show’ to view the API credentials.

Once you’ve set up a PayPal merchant account, you will receive the API credentials that you need to enter in Yapsody.
